BioBatch

SoBiCo GmbH has developed compostable bioplastics based on renewable raw materials under the names BioBatch and BioBatch-S. For the production of BioBatch products, bio-based materials as well as, in some cases, materials of fossil origin or natural minerals are used. BioBatch compounds typically consist of materials based on sustainable raw materials such as PLA, TPS, or starch.

Here, a key raw material is PLA (polylactic acid). PLA is produced from renewable raw materials and is one of the most widely used bioplastics.

By using different combinations of raw materials, a wide range of applications can be covered with materials from the BioBatch range. In addition to the focus on film types, there are also variants that are used in thermoforming and injection molding.

For most of the BioBatch types, the biodegradability and compostability according to DIN EN 13432 and ASTM D6400, as well as home compostability, are tested and certified by DIN CERTCO.

The extrusion grades of the BioBatch range are characterized by a successful mix of stiffness and toughness and are ideally suited for film production. Target applications are mainly films for gardening and agriculture, carrier bags, fruit and vegetable bags, as well as packaging films.
