SoBiCo GmbH has developed compostable bioplastics based on renewable raw materials under the name BioBatch and BioBatch-S. In contrast to the Plactid® series, these are compounds that are produced with petrochemical polyesters (for example, PBAT). In addition to these polyesters, BioBatch compounds contain materials based on sustainable raw materials, such as PLA or TPS (starch).

Their biodegradability and compostability have been tested and certified to DIN EN 13432 and ASTM D6400 and their garden compostability tested and certified by DIN CERTCO.

The products in the BioBatch series feature a successful combination of rigidity and toughness and are ideal for foil production.

Target applications particularly include foils for gardening and agriculture, shopping bags, fruit and vegetable bags and packaging film and trays.
